Overview

Do you have a passion for culinary excellence and leading a team in a high-end dining experience? At Town and Country, our ARLO restaurant is seeking a Lead Cook to bring precision, creativity, and leadership to our kitchen. This position is responsible for oversight of the kitchen staff who prepare, cook, and garnish meals for hotel guests and patrons. The Lead Cook will provide leadership and guidance to the shift staff and also will work on the hot or cold line as needed. With focus on quality and production levels, this position will assist the culinary team with their mission to exceed customers’ expectations related to food quality and dining experience. Pay Rate $23.00 Hr. #TowncountrySD

Responsibilities

  • Culinary Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of cooks to ensure flawless execution of dishes.
  • Precision & Quality: Prepare and plate dishes to the highest standards of presentation and taste.
  • Menu Collaboration: Work with the Chef to develop and refine seasonal and signature dishes.
  • Efficiency & Organization: Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain top-notch kitchen hygiene and adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Teamwork & Training: Assist in training new team members and fostering a collaborative kitchen culture.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a fine dining or upscale kitchen.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Passion for high-quality ingredients, techniques, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
  • Food handler's card

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a high-energy kitchen environment.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks such as chopping, stirring, and plating.
  • Work in varying temperatures, including hot kitchens and cold storage areas.
