Overview

The Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing the setup and execution of banquet events, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing banquet staff, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality. The Banquet Manager plays a key role in ensuring all events run smoothly, from setup to breakdown, while upholding the hotel’s service standards and financial goals. Responsibilities

Event Execution & Service:

  • Supervise and coordinate all banquet setups, ensuring rooms are arranged according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and client specifications.
  • Oversee banquet service to ensure timeliness, professionalism, and adherence to service standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact during events, addressing guest concerns and making real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between different events and meal periods.

 

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Manage and lead the banquet team, including captains, servers, housemen, and bar staff.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review event details and service expectations.
  • Train and mentor banquet staff on service standards, setup procedures, and guest interaction.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to maintain a high-performing team.

 

Coordination & Communication:

  • Work closely with the Banquet Chef, Catering Sales, and Event Planning teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Communicate effectively with other hotel departments, including Culinary, Stewarding, and Housekeeping, to fulfill event requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling and reporting of special requests, dietary restrictions, and VIP needs.

 

Operational & Financial Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper inventory and maintenance of banquet equipment, linens, and service ware.
  • Assist in scheduling staff according to event needs and labor budget guidelines.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs, minimizing waste and ensuring accurate billing.
  • Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of banquet management experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or high-volume event venue.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of banquet setup, service standards, and event logistics.
  • Proficiency in POS and banquet event software is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., push, pull, and carry equipment and materials.
  • Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, and outdoor conditions as needed.
